1. Core Refrigeration System
Compressor: The power core, commonly screw-type, scroll-type, or reciprocating-type, determining refrigeration capacity and energy efficiency.
Condenser (Water-cooled): Shell-and-tube / Plate heat exchanger, using cooling water to remove heat from the refrigerant. Requires external cooling tower + cooling water pump.
Evaporator: Shell-and-tube / Plate type, where the refrigerant exchanges heat with process water to produce chilled water.
Throttling Device: Expansion valve / capillary tube, controls refrigerant flow rate and pressure.
2. Water Circulation System
Chilled Water Pump: Delivers low-temperature chilled water to equipment, returns to evaporator after heat absorption.
Water Tank / Storage Tank: Stabilizes water pressure, buffers flow, facilitates makeup water and blowdown.
Cooling Water Pump + Cooling Tower: Supplies circulating cooling water to condenser, dissipates heat to atmosphere.
3. Electrical Controls and Protection
Thermostats, high/low pressure protection, overload protection, flow switches, freeze protection, etc., ensure safe and stable operation.
