3 Maintenance Tips For Air-Cooled Chillers

Jul 25, 2025 Leave a message

Air-cooled chillers are also called air-cooled box chillers, air-cooled screw chillers, air-cooled low-temperature chillers, air-cooled piston chillers, etc.

It is one of the most commonly used chillers.

Although air-cooled chillers are equipped with multiple protection devices, these are to prevent the faults from directly damaging the unit.
If the company wants to ensure that the air-cooled chiller has high cooling efficiency and long service life, it must remember to do regular maintenance.

1. Check the stability of voltage and current.

When the air-cooled chiller is working normally, the voltage is 380V (the voltage of DYJ-01A~DYJ-02A is 220V, and the voltage in some regions is also 410V, etc.), and the current is normal within the range of 11A-15A

2. Check whether the refrigerant "is reduced"

This can be judged according to the high and low pressure gauge values on the front of the air-cooled chiller.

When the chiller is operating normally, the high pressure is 11-17kg and the low pressure is 3-5kg, which is the normal range. When it is stopped, the high and low pressures are both around 0.6kg;

3. Clean the system regularly.

When the air-cooled chiller has been running for 6 months, the entire system should be cleaned, such as pipes, filters, condensers, fans, etc., especially fans, which are covered with dust like the fans we usually use, affecting heat dissipation, so the cooling efficiency will be directly reduced.
