Scroll chillers is an efficient refrigeration equipment with scroll compressor as its core component. They are widely used in industrial and commercial applications to transfer heat through refrigeration cycle, provide cooling and reduce equipment and ambient temperature. This paper will explain the structure, working principle, type, characteristics, application and so on in detail.
I. Structure
A scroll chiller is mainly composed of compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator and other key parts. The compressor has a scroll design, comprising static and rotary reels. These two scrolling grids work together to continuously compress the refrigerant gas.
ii. Principles of work
a scroll chiller works by using a the reverse Carnot cycle, which uses refrigerant to transfer heat from a cold to a hot object. The process is as follows:
Compression: Compressor absorbs low low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant vapor from evaporator and compresses it into high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant gas.
Condensation: The high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant gas enters the condenser, transferring heat to the cooling medium (water in water-cooling system, air in air-cooling system), which condenses into a high-temperature, high-pressure liquid.
Expansions: The high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant liquid are reduced through a throttling device, such as expansion valve, to form a mixture of low-temperature, low-pressure gas andliquid.
Evaporation: A mixture of low temperature and low pressure gases and liquids enters the evaporator, absorbs heat from a cooling medium (e.g., cooling water), and evaporates into a low temperature and low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant vapor. This can reduce the temperature of the cooled medium to achieve a cooling effect. The low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant vapor is then pulled back into the compressor to start a new refrigeration cycle.
III. Type Type
According to the cooling mode, scroll chillers can be divided into wind chillers and water chillers:
Air-cooled scroll chiller: use of air cooling, through an air-cooled condenser heat. Such equipment is suitable for small and medium-sized spaces, such as commercial buildings, industrial facilities and medical institutions.
Water-cooled scroll chiller: This reel chiller uses water-cooled reel chiller for heat dissipation. These units have large cooling capacity and can meet various load requirements in different applications such as large commercial buildings and industrial production lines.
IV. INTRODUCTION Characteristics and Advantages
Efficient energy saving: Scroll compressors has a high volumetric efficiency, usually exceeding 90%, even up to 80%% in low load. Compared with traditional refrigeration equipment, its energy conversion efficiency higher.
Steady operation: The unique design of the scroll compressor reduces friction, noise and vibration, making the quieter and smoother operation.
Compact design: Scroll chillers small, lightweight, space-saving, easy to install and maintain.
Intelligent control: The built-in microcomputer control system automatically adjusts compressor output according to load change to ensure optimum performance and efficiency.
Multiple protection: provides multiple safety protections, including high/low pressure protection, cooling water protection, power phase sequence protection, etc., to ensure safe and reliable operation.
V. Scope of application
the scroll chiller widely used in various industries because of their high efficiency, energy saving and stable operation.
Commercial buildings: such as office buildings, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, etc., provide a comfortable indoor environment.
Industrial manufacturing: such as factories, workshops, production lines, etc. to meet the needs of process cooling and manufacturing cooling.
Medical institutions: such as hospitals, clinics, laboratories, etc., to cool medical equipment.
Educational institutions, such as schools, universities and laboratories, provide a cooling environment for teaching and research.
Entertainment Venues: such as cinemas, theaters, gyms, amusement parks, etc., to cool down entertainment facilities.
Agriculture: such as farms and livestock farms, used for cooling and temperature control of agricultural facilities.
