The maintenance cycle of the chiller

Sep 30, 2022 Leave a message

Chillers are widely used in electroplating, oxidation, electronics, hardware, chemical medicine, plastics, printing, photovoltaics, PCB circuit boards and many other fields. While providing refrigeration for all users, don't forget to maintain the chiller itself.

Chiller maintenance usually includes the replacement of refrigeration oil and the cleaning of heat exchangers. For screw chillers, the oil change cycle is generally 3,000 hours of operation for the first time, and every 5,000 hours of operation thereafter. At the same time, the replacement refrigeration oil model should be the same as the original refrigeration oil type, so as to avoid the normal operation of the chiller or the low refrigeration efficiency caused by the inappropriate refrigeration oil label.

For chiller cleaning, it is mainly determined by the degree of scaling or blockage of the heat exchanger. When the heat exchanger is seriously fouled or blocked, it will lead to the failure of the chiller operating pressure to be too high or unable to start due to high pressure. The cleaning of the chiller is generally divided into chemical cleaning and physical cleaning. Usually, for the blockage of the heat exchanger, physical cleaning is usually performed first to clear the blocked pipeline and the sludge attached to the heat exchange tube. After this step, we can add chemical cleaning agents. Do not directly add medicine to the circulating water without physical cleaning, otherwise it will affect the efficacy of the medicine.

How often the chiller maintenance needs to be carried out depends mainly on the operating frequency of the chiller. For the chiller that cools all the year round, it is best to carry out maintenance once a year, and for the chiller that is only used when the temperature is high in summer, it is not impossible to carry out maintenance once every two years.
